DungeonVox: David Lawrence: “You are only as good as your last photograph.”

In BDSM, erotica, podcast, rope on May 31, 2009 at 4:15 pm

David Lawrence is a fine art photographer/bondage artist whose personal style and substance, masterfully captured on human canvases, is well known throughout the world. Engaging and personable, David is a sought after mentor who has guided many “name” photographers and rope artists. He has a talent for translating the jargon to understandable terms and believes in learning by doing. Listen to a candid conversation on the site of a recent rope workshop about his life, work, and what the future holds in store for him.

I really enjoy this job.

Funny thing was, I was so relaxed because I was in ropes until 30 minutes before the interview. Mellow doesn’t even cover it. Smile

Note his comment about my “submissive” nature.

DungeonVox – Esemar: S&M Special Ops Training Chateau

In BDSM, podcast, Writer on April 22, 2009 at 12:21 am

ningnewsFinally, the long awaited DungeonVox with Master R has been pulled together. Back in February, I called Master R via Skype on his telephone and had a long chat.

Master R is a charming gentleman who, along with Mistress Colette, run LaDomaine Esemar. Both are committed to educating anyone who seeks knowledge about BDSM and all the aspects of the lifestyle. He goes into detail about the vision for LaDomaine and community education efforts towards those goals.

At the end of our conversation, I erred in calling him Master Robert. He said that was NOT what the letter R is for. (You’ll hear me stuttering in the interview.) Then he challenged me to think on it.

Master R has recently published his memoirs, MASTER: THE UNAUTHORIZED AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MASTER R. He gave me a peak at the manuscript. I only read the first couple of chapters because I didn’t want the book to taint the interview, but it was hard to put down once I got to the part about BDSM during the early 60s cultural revolution.

We have continued our correspondence and I DID guess what the R in his name stands for.
